Research advances on pathogenesis and treatment of diabetic complications

In recent decades, the prevalence of diabetes has been increasing year by year, and a series of complications caused by diabetes include diabetic cardiomyopathy, retinopathy, nephropathy, osteoporosis and neuropathy. The pathogenesis of these complications is still very unclear, and there is an urgent need for some therapeutic drugs to meet the clinical needs. In this review, we summarize the pathogenesis of various diabetic complications in the past five years, the markers that have received more attention and the main therapeutic drugs, in order to provide references for the drug research and development of diabetic complications.
